Riot Rhythm
he Official Story of when Space Dogs sent Human Form Crash Bandicoot to Dance battle the Space Cat controlled Oligarchy to death and freedom for all of earth.
Technically an art residency.
The Story of Riot Rhythm begins in a cubicle at an Americorps job in Seattle Washington. It would take something that boring to dream up a psychedelic dance battle music video. Hand to spirit was not a cosmonaught yet as I searched my library for a song I could imagine the shadow-pose shooting dance warriors playing their story to.
I brought a storyboard down to my friend Niko's barn in Olympia for a weekend off work and enlisted the 6 people living there to costume each other and hop on a mysteriously directed stroll into the woods.
As I drove back to my cubicle in Seattle I only knew enough to know I didn't shoot enough.
I took Friday off work and went down to Olympia. I shot what I needed right away and got to work editing on my laptop. Niko fed me coffee and cigarets and breakfast, he let me have his desk by the window where the rain kept me company as I worked with intense focus. On Wednesday I quit was fired and on Friday I tried adderall because on saturday we hung up a sheet out the window of the barn and invited all the filmmakers and friends and professors over, and we cooked a dear someone hit in the road, and we screened all the films people made, and then we had a big premiere for Riot Rhythm.
And for a little while I was Olympia famous.
but that wore off by the time I moved there, no one lives in that barn anymore.
